Every day on the Internet, thousands of hours of website design page content are written to mislead and waste thousands of hours of users. For the more than 1 billion Internet users today, these misleadings amount to equal amounts of frustration. And for your customers, this may mean passing opportunities. An in-depth understanding of effective page coding methods will enhance the online experience of each of your designs and websites. And your users will reward you for your efforts with marketing and sales.
To this end, I have a few small suggestions to share with you.
1. Site Structure Matters
Organize the information on our website pages, guide and help users find the information they want or complete the tasks they want in an intuitive and easy-to-understand way, which can save time for users to go to other things. Organize website navigation, information, and links according to the needs of target users rather than the client's corporate structure. The client's website is not the company's management structure map, so please don't organize your website according to this structure.
Example: A company operating a business combination already has a website with pages for various sub-departments (such as Legal, Accounting, Marketing, etc.). Users have to jump between pages blindly, and even guess which department page they should look for to find the information they want.
Solution: Guided by user needs, recombine the structure and content of the website, for example, based on the user's task needs, re-divide into: selling business; acquiring business; additional services and other blocks. Maybe the business itself is complex, but it shouldn't be difficult for users to find the information they need.
2. Make your pages readable (scannable)
Does the client's website force you to dig out the information they need from a bunch of long introductions, vague information or useless introductory text? Research has found that our users are mostly just scanning information, so all you need to do is keep your pages lean and concise. Generally speaking, if you want to turn a brochure into a web page, you only need to leave half or less of the original content. Professional website construction pages need: content-related titles, subtitles (secondary titles), main points, short, single topic paragraphs, and explanatory links. Strive to simplify the content of the pages your customers submit to you, turning them into easily digestible content chunks. Delete unnecessary words, and try to keep each sentence and each paragraph as concise as possible.
3. Use simple, understandable language
There is a huge difference between concise and clear communication and empty communication. A clean website leads to intuitive communication. It will be easier for readers to process, understand and communicate the information. For example, see such words on the website of a flower shop: "The pink that makes people move, or the infinitely charming...". It's just a site for buying roses, and words like "movingly beautiful" will only alienate readers. Why not use words like "beautiful" or "cute"? They can also achieve the effect you want. Perhaps such a flowery wording will make you feel superior or win you a handful of awards from some design awards. But they really don't do much for your client's business.
4. Unified text style
Most businesses have multiple people adding content at different times, which leads to conflicting content styles. You should precisely check every piece of content on the page: spelling and typos, formatting, grammatical style, tone of narrative, grammar and tense, flow of words. The key to a unified style is to ensure the unity of content for customers, and unified content can improve the professionalism of their brand-professionalism is the performance of trust and reliability. Compelling arguments, credible evidence and graphics will be the best way to convey the professionalism and enthusiasm of the client you represent. If all you have is some hype, leave it in spam. A good website production is closely related to its website structure, typesetting layout, real readability of website page content quality, simple and easy-to-understand language, unified text style, and authentic and credible arguments and charts.
